Rooms
Some of the guest beds are made with wood from the property. Three rooms have queen beds with canopies. Also, many of the night stands and dressers are handmade. All window draperies and matching bed covers and skirts are handmade. You will find many oriental rugs throughout the house.
Our green bedroom has a beautiful breathtaking view of the James River and a side door that opens to the old boxwood gardens. A large tub and shower make a refreshing, relaxing bathtime. The green room has a relaxing and calming charm as you sit at the table in the bay window and take time to enjoy nature and reflect on peaceful thoughts. A wonderful spot to read or write journal writings.
Overlooking the lawn and front lane, the peach room is very colorful and welcoming. A unique blend of tapestry, matching chairs and a beautiful handcrafted armoire adorn the room.
The blue room has a spectacular view that overlooks the river, the boxwoods, and the front lane and grassy fields approaching the manor.
Our burgundy room has two full size beds in a deep burgundy and cream color scheme. A large room-size, luscious burgundy oriental rug lies between the two beds. This large room makes a nice room for friends to share as a relaxing stop with dinner and then on to Williamsburg the next day to shop.
Don't forget; all overnight stays include a big country breakfast.
Our dining room can seat about 20. We serve many anniversary, birthday and special events or holiday gatherings. Also, we host bridal luncheons and small weddings.
Our front and back porches have large wooden rocking chairs to sit in and enjoy the peaceful and tranquil view. Our riverfront porch has glass windows with 4 large openings to enjoy the refreshing breeze from the James River. A nice setting for lemonade and a light snack.
You will find the parlor and the library comfortable for reading and relaxing. Both are adorned with beautiful architectural crown molding and historical fireplaces with decorative mantles.
